The Down to Earth collection colourways have been inspired by some of the different stones that are found from all around the world. I chose the name Down to Earth for the collection because these stones are naturally occurring in the earth and also it can mean basic and uncomplicated. These yarns, being a single coloured tonal yarn are more uncomplicated than the other variegated or speckled yarns that I dye. I created them especially to use in stranded colourwork but of course they will make beautiful items when used as a stand alone yarn. Each skein in the Down to Earth Collection is dyed on a natural brown based yarn to give depth and a slight heathered effect to the tonal yarn. The single coloured skeins are perfect to use for stranded colourwork in sweaters, mittens, hats etc.
Trollfjord sock base is durable enough for socks yet soft enough to use for shawls, hats, mittens and garments or even children´s clothing. It contains non-superwash wool but you can still machine wash on a wool program at 30 degrees with a detergent specifically for wool. However I always prefer to handwash my knitwear in general. Dry flat and do not tumble dry. I have used professional acid dyes and thoroughly washed and rinsed this yarn with a gentle wool wash detergent. I do however recommend washing items separately for the first couple of washes as very minimal colour bleeding may occur.

Please contact me if you need larger quantities for a specific project like a garment so that I can dye all skeins together to minimise colour differences between the skeins.
******
All skeins are hand-dyed and are repeatable colourways but due to the hand-dyeing process they will not always be identical. I recommend if using for a garment, that you alternate skeins every 2 rows to blend the colours to avoid obvious colour variations.
******
I try my best to photograph the skeins as accurately as possible using a Nikon camera and natural light but please note that colours may appear different due to variations in monitor/screen settings.

All items are produced in a Smoke-free / Pet-free environment .

Listings are for( 1 x 100g),(1 x 50g), (1 x 25g or (1 x 20g) skein only (depending on the weight chosen) , even if pictured in a group.

Please note that the listings photographs show the 100g full skein. All the Troll Twist mini skeins (20g), Troll Twists (25g) and Half Skeins (50g) will have been re-skeined from the original 100g full skein so will definitely appear different to the original listing photographs due to the re-skeining effect. Re-skeining redistributes the colours in a different pattern throughout the mini skeins compared to the original pattern they were dyed in. But they are definitely all the same colourways as the original 100g skeins.
